Branch Pubs of the Year 2016

The results of this year’s Pub of the Year awards are as follows:

City of Edinburgh Pub of the Year 2016

The Edinburgh Pub of the Year is the Stockbridge Tap, Raeburn Place.

Runner Up: the Cask and Barrel (Southside), W. Preston Street

Third Place: Cloisters, Brougham Street

Borders Pub of the Year 2016

The Borders Pub of the Year is The Bridge Inn, Peebles.

Runner Up: Rutherford’s, Kelso.

Third Place: Cobbles, Kelso.

Lothians Pub of the Year 2016

The Lothians Pub of the Year is the Volunteer Arms (Staggs), North High Street, Musselburgh.

Runner Up: The Grey Horse, Main Street, Balerno.

Third Place: Levenhall Arms, Ravensheugh Road, Musselburgh

The overall branch Pub of the Year will be announced shortly.

The Future of the Goth, Prestonpans

A public meeting to discuss the future of the Prestoungrange Gothenburg in Prestonpans is next Friday, 19th February at 6pm (upstairs at the Goth). Dr Gordon Prestoungrange has 'offered the Goth for the community to buy' but if this doesn't happen then he will place it on the open market in April 2017.

Postal Votes for Good Beer Guide 2017 Selection Meeting

The selection of entries for the 2017 Good Beer Guide will be made at the next branch meeting on Saturday 20th February, 2pm in the Beehive, Grassmarket, Edinburgh.

If you cannot make the meeting then you may apply for a postal vote. To do so, please e-mail your name and membership number to pub_info@edinburghcamra.org.uk.

Note that an application must be received from everyone who would like a postal vote, so don’t just pass the form on to others.
